During the Victoria period, Wallingford (Oxfordshire UK) was home to a number of painters who rose to national prominence in their own time, and who are becoming better known to the modern audience. Many of these painters sprung from two families: the Leslie family of Riverside house; and the Hayllar family of Castle Priory. The Abingdon Artists group was formed in 1990 and continues to go from strength to strength. Membership is open to artists living in Abingdon and surrounding district, The membership fee is £15 a year.

bulletOpportunities for exhibiting work. Abingdon Artists hold at least two major public Exhibitions a year. Members also have the opportunity to exhibit as the 'Artist of the Month'

Demonstrations, talks, workshops and sketching days outside at gardens, country houses etc. Indoor evening meetings are held from 7.30pm to 10.00pm at the Conservative Club, 59 Ock Street, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX14 5AG. Please enter through the rear of the building via the car park off Conduit Road.
